Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor died and three other people were injured.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
